Credu in Ceredigion is proud to announce that it has attained the prestigious Gold Level in the Investors in Carers quality assurance scheme, a significant milestone that highlights the organisation’s commitment to supporting unpaid carers of all ages.
The Investors in Carers scheme is designed to raise awareness and improve support for unpaid carers, ensuring adherence to key legislation such as the Social Services and Wellbeing Act (Wales) 2014, and aligning with guidance provided to regional partnership boards. As an integral part of the West Wales Carers Strategy 2020-25, the scheme is implemented across a diverse range of settings, including GP surgeries, social care teams, libraries, and third sector organisations.

To achieve Gold Level, Credu demonstrated advanced understanding of the challenges faced by unpaid carers and excelled across six key themes: Carer Lead, Staff Training, Identification of Unpaid Carers, Information for Unpaid Carers, Support for Unpaid Carers (including staff who are unpaid carers), and Evaluation.
Mandy Dean, who leads the Carers team in Ceredigion, commented:
“We are very proud of the team for all the work they did compiling our portfolio for our Investors in Carers Gold level. Carers are at the heart of everything that we do in Credu – they are the unseen glue that holds families, communities and ultimately society together. We feel honoured to work alongside them to support them.”
This achievement reflects Credu’s ongoing dedication to recognising and supporting unpaid carers, ensuring they receive the information, resources, and respect they deserve.
